Q. Will you place ads on my site?
A. We will not place ads on your site. All we ask is permission to put a link in the footer that says "Site Design and Hosting by Packet River, LLC". You can have ads of your own for related sites if you choose.

Q. What about copyrights?
A. You retain ownership of all images, product guides, and other materials that you provide during the development of your site. In some cases we'll purchase additional images from stock agencies to use on your website. Stock media is governed by the terms of the agency it's from. Any graphics or design done by Packet River LLC at your request for your site becomes your property. However, all back end application code and database structures remain the property of Packet River LLC.

Q. What types of sites do you allow?
A. Services provided by Packet River LLC may only be used for lawful purposes. We will not develop or host anything illegal, inflamatory, or defaming to others. Software or music downloads, gambling, spam engines, proxies, etc. are not permitted.

Systems
Q. Do your server's run Windows, Linux, Unix, etc?
A. Our servers run Open Solaris, which is the open source version of Sun's Solaris operating system. This provides the solid reliability and performance you can expect from Unix.

Security
Q. Can I have an account on your servers?
A. We don't provide shell, telnet, FTP accounts or any direct user access to our servers. This is for the protection of data, applications, and system resources. All functions of your web application are available within a standard web browser.

Q. Do you store credit card data?
A. If your application uses a shopping cart, we integrate it with industry leading payment providers like Google Checkout. In compliance with the stringent requirements of the Payment Card Industry's Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS), we don't store any cardholder data in our systems. After payment is made, we save only the confirmation number and shipping information for purchases made through your eCommerce application. This ensures that in the unlikely event of a security breach, no confidential card information is at risk.
